Development of the Glow demo is well underway, alongside design progress on the mobile version. This autumn, Glow will also launch research in Los Angeles in collaboration with Access to Prevention Advocacy Intervention & Treatment (APAIT).
Glow is an LLM-powered skills coach chatbot designed to support individuals in achieving their behavior change goals. Rooted in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) principles, Glow utilizes systematic chain analysis to help users understand and modify their thoughts and behaviors. Specifically, the goal of Glow is to address the needs of individuals with problematic substance abuse and are at a high risk for HIV. We aim to provide a tailored, compassionate mental health support this population through a contextually aware chatbot.
A unique feature of Glow is its crisis detection capability. The AI chatbot is programmed to identify potential distress signals within user conversations and alert the user’s therapist. By fostering collaboration between users and therapists, Glow empowers individuals to gain insights into their patterns of thought and behavior.
