We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Research Assistant to join our dynamic research team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting Dr. Liying Wang’s research. This role will support the development of research projects by assisting with developing research protocol, submitting IRB, conducting study, preparing manuscript, and other tasks related to research.

Required Qualifications
2+ years of research experience
Experience with IRB: document knowledge, writing protocols, and understanding submission process
Strong documentation skills: ability to be clear clear and concise written and verbal communication
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, and project management tools
Ability to work independently and part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
Senior undergraduate, applying for or attending a graduate program in a relevant field (e.g., Public Health, Psychology, Pre-med, Human-computer interaction, informatics)
Knowledge of research methodology and design
Primary Responsibilities:
Research Application Development:
Manage IRB applications: Prepare applications via drafting and editing research protocols and making revisions.
Manuscript preparation: assist and contribute to writing research manuscripts and preparing presentations.
Prepare concise reports and summaries of research findings.
Coordinating study procedures:
Conduct in-depth literature reviews to support research objectives.
Oversee studies adhering to protocols which include, participant recruitment, study coordination, and data collection.
Assist with data collection and management.
Professional Development & Mentorship:
Actively participate in lab meetings: Present research findings and engage in discussions with other researchers.
Explore professional development opportunities: Attend workshops, conferences, and networking events.
Receive mentorship and guidance from the principal investigator on research methods, data analysis, scientific writing, and career development.

Time Commitment:
Winter quarter (Jan-Mar) with the possibility of extension
